ham4864 Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 i am kind of a noob right now but i know the low pass frequency is suppose to be set between 60 and 80Hz on my sub amp.it goes from 50hz to 250 it seems like when i turn it to 250 the bass get louder.Why is this? 2009 bmw 5 series Head Unit Stock Amplifier-JL Audio JX 360/4 Processor- Audiocontrol LC6

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.
Neo_frog Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 Your low pass does exactly what it's named. Lets the "low pass". Filters out highs. It's probably a poorly setup dial or your box has a really high tuning. Turning it up all the way opens up a wider response and therefore let's the higher frequencies pass. jmilch Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 Makes sense that your box is tuned high, or your drivers sound better at a higher frequency than lower (ie a cheaper sub).
