You really only need to charge them if they've sat for several months. Make sure resting voltage is around 12.8 and then I'd just toss her in and o for a nice hour or two drive with nothing on. That'll charge her fine. As for a charger, I'd suggest te xs 12v charger.

I bought a D3400 off of a user from here who says it sat around 12.8v before shipping. It has been sitting here for about a month and I'm about to install. Will buying a charger ever be necessary or can I run it decent enough off my stock alternator? It will be used as a secondary in the trunk running the equipment in my signature.

I plan on upgrading the alternator in a few months, but I want to make sure I'm not harming the battery. Not exactly sure how to maintain the battery.
