EdgarG0721
Do you have to charge xs power battery when you buy them new? If so with any charger?
tonedeaf
You really only need to charge them if they've sat for several months. Make sure resting voltage is around 12.8 and then I'd just toss her in and o for a nice hour or two drive with nothing on. That'll charge her fine. As for a charger, I'd suggest te xs 12v charger. ShadowWolf9
I bought a D3400 off of a user from here who says it sat around 12.8v before shipping. It has been sitting here for about a month and I'm about to install. Will buying a charger ever be necessary or can I run it decent enough off my stock alternator? It will be used as a secondary in the trunk running the equipment in my signature. I plan on upgrading the alternator in a few months, but I want to make sure I'm not harming the battery. Not exactly sure how to maintain the battery. Nathan @ XSpower
Charging the battery every so often with a proper charger will prolong the life of the battery and improve the performance.
