While picking up my friend, I noticed that when he opened the door to my car the bass got louder.. What do I do? would you suggest turning the box so that the subs face the front of the car?? Help Helppp.

JWBryant Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 From what I've learned its like ported vs sealed with the doors closed its not as efficient but with the doors, or the trunk open its like porting a box, ported boxes which are much more louder than sealed. Once I had the same thing going on, I was in my single cab truck with the subs goin and my friend hopped in opened the door and it got louder, now I drive with my windows open. Basshead-in-Training
ALPINE408 Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 its called standing waves you also turn your car into a 6th order band pass with a ported box then opening a window or door but you are now sitting in the port of the 6th order you can fix standing waves by fixing your box Have you ever had your woofers blown?
