Forevrbumpn Posted May 26, 2011 Report Posted May 26, 2011 I wonder how people get away with tossing in non factory engines? I know cali is the liberal green state andwe have a gang of regulations. But my headers on my Yukon are from a 1999 vortex 350 but my truck is a 2000 old body style. Just cuz I have one digit off on my carb #s its a pain to smog. I have thought of doing the corvette heads and intake because you can, but really you can't. In your state is there any issue at all with that? I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

Tuned in though, this is very interesting. To me it is cheaper for the simple fact that you would never get what you paid or put into a car, having to start modding all over again etc. I drive a 07 Charger and having the same motor swap done by a company in Arizona. They will be sending a hauler to get my car here in Kansas City and ship it down there for the work. All in all the whole swap is going to cost me about $7,000. Thats a tranny, fully assmebled HEMI with a cam and all of the neccessary goodies and a Brembo upgrade. To me 6k isn't too back considering the cheapest I have found a SRT-8 is in the low 20K range and that was an 2006.
