hey guys im putting my fi btl 18 in the back seat of my 1996 ford taurus and i was wondering if i should seal the trunk off. and should i have the sub firing upwards or forwards?

if your going to do that do it right. dont put it on the back seat, take the back seat completely out.

i would up fire it. and if you want to keep trunk space then seal it off. if you dont need it then i would have external ports firing back into the trunk.

how would i go about sealing it off? fitting some mdf and expanding foam?

thats what i would do, and maybe 2 layers

do you think im gonna have to do anything to the space behind the rear seat headrests? im taking out the seats i just dont know how to explain the space.

i would atleast cover all the small holes with some sound deadener

I would try to play TETRIS..... Use cardboard and make copies of the holes that you have behind the seat and in the rear deck. Get the peaces as close as you can to the holes and use the cardboard to make wood filler blanks and mount them using radio back strap or what ever. After you are happy with the fit, fiberglass the panel so there will be no leaks into the trunk.

Or you could mount a single seat in the rear and go all crazy/custom and build a box in the passenger rear seat

Good luck

Does this smell funny to you? Its your sister :roflmao:
