superdave07 Posted May 27, 2011 Report Posted May 27, 2011 Ok so here goes, In my integra (1995) Ive got a single run of KNU 1/0 power and ground ran to the rear battery. Its a northstar 170. The battery is also grounded to the "frame rails" in the rear, of coarse the big three is done up front. Anyways, when i first get in the car, and drive, playing the system a little. I dont have any issues really. If i drive for a while, weather im bumping hard or not i start to get some alt whine. If i Burp it hard for a while, I will get a lot of whine for a while after. My voltage drops to mid 11s after beating it for a few minutes or so. So my question, is this whine caused by not enough power/ground wire? or my battery draining from my stock alt not keeping up? In case you wanna know, its two DC lvl3 15s, and a dbdrive 2000.1 amp. i plan to upgrade the alt when i get the funds. Un-hook the rear ground or hook it up to the rear seat belts and see if that changes anything Does this smell funny to you? Its your sister

I only loose voltage on long low notes, the box is tuned low, and gets nasty with a good low note, but the voltage drop scares me. Un-hook the rear ground or hook it up to the rear seat belts and see if that changes anything Its a uni bodied car, the rear seat belt mount is just some sheet metal, there are sub frame rails in the rear of the car that support the rear suspension. thats where the battery is grounded in the rear. 3 different places, all 1/0 I hope the alt isnt dying, this began as soon as i put a system in the car...
