Ok im sure this is noob for most of you but this is my first major install.

my equipment is as follows

RF t-1500 bdcp

RF t-400.4

2 RF T1d212 - ported box

1 stinger 10 farad cap

stinger 0/1 kit

kenwood excelon x494 - 4 amp preouts

2 kenetic hc800 battery's

ill get some pictures later it looks crappy waiting on money to build a box to fit the trunk.

but my question is im running a stock 120a alt in my 2001 VW gti 1.8t

i want to do the big 3 upgrade to help charge the battery but and install a second battery because what i have in not enough.

so i decided to go with a Relay Battery Isolator should i go with a 200a or 500a isolator?

and will this help with power consumption?

i also plan on upgrading my alt to a 200a

any other ideas would be awesome thanks for looking!

why are you using a battery isolator?

upgrade the alt, get a decent batt in the back, and you are good...

Save the money from the cap and switch from Kinetik to a XS batt or if you want a Stingerbatt.

Caps are usless and will drain your electrical system and the XS- and Stingerbatts are "the" caraudio-batts on the market, maby battcap is anoter

advice.

then go ahead and wire up the rest, and see, if you already have it, no reason not to use it LOL

with a 200a alt, you shouldnt drop THAT much, high 12s low 13s at full tilt, if i had to guess
