I also have an 04 and 15 is the way to go in these cars i put a 15 in mine only downside is i have no more trunk room but who cares the gto is no grocery getter. you should try taking out the stock rear shelf speakers so the bass can pass through there also i took mine out since they sounded to muddy it makes it a little bit louder without them.

I took them out when I deadened the rear shelf and played the system before I put the speakers back in and I agree 100%. When I figure out what I really want I think I will pull them once and for all. I also removed the gray thing under the brake light in between the speakers and that really helped also. It was flapping up and down with the sub playing I think that may have ended almost as much rattle as the deadener... The dimensions are 35W*18H*15D the port is 2.5 inches and i forgot how long but it isnt enough its ported to around 32hz. But this is the max you can fit in the gto. you can probably squeeze one more inch in width but if you do 16 in depth i dont think the trunk will close unless you go with a smaller height. if you go with this dimensions most probably the amp has to go in the spare tire well since you are left with very little space on the sides.

I really like the dimensions you have on your box. I think that about the size I'll do. The box I have coming for my 12's is an Atrend prefab its like 34X14X17 or something like So I'll see how that fits. No It's in the middle of the 2 subs. It's for 2 12s where yours was for 1. I was moderately happy with the atrend box I had my type R in plus its like $20 more than buying 1 from bestbuy that I'd still have to assemble.
