doug118
Can I somehow run 6 speakers on one 4 channel amp? I'd like to run two 6's, two 4's, and two tweeters. Or would just a nice 6" mid and tweeter be enough? Quote 2001 Tahoe. Mikesmith0890
Yes. I believe the correct way would be to run the 6s and 4s together, thus wiring to 2 ohm, then wiring the tweets to their own channels at 4ohms (assuming those are the correct impedances of the speakers) would be better if ran on an active setup Quote AlphaDamp Sound Deadening CDL Mat - The best Vibration Damper Ever! doug118
6's are 8 ohm. 4's are 4 ohm. tweeters are 8 ohms. If I wired the 6's and 4's together I wouldn't be able to run run them at different frequencies, correct? Quote 2001 Tahoe. sqsux
6's and tweeters on the front channels and 4's on the rears is how i would do it. i'm assuming this is all passive. Mikesmith0890
yes/no but it would have to be ran active, and it would be limited to what you could do with them wired together. But you should never wire speakers of different ohm loads together, it's a no no Quote AlphaDamp Sound Deadening CDL Mat - The best Vibration Damper Ever! jbald87
if someone could build a 3-way crossover that would make things much easier Have you tried google? I googled it and got a good one on the first try, you might have to make it yourself, but atleast you can have it how you want it. Quote In the middle of a system rebuild. Kevin M
Partsexpress.com or madisound.com can hand build em' (crossovers) for ya w/ customizable slopes and cutoffs. I use an alpine comp set w/ crossover and use the 2nd order in the amp for the midbass. This is one way to run six speakers on one 4 channel amp. Comp set 215hz- 20k Midbass 250-35hz (10" in each door) Quote 2005 Ford Focus zx4 AMT's and Planars 18" Infinite baffle
