Box for Single DD 1508

Alright, So I have been digging through all the threads that have even vaguely mentioned the 1508.

I am wanting to build a box for a single 8"

It has D4 coils and will be running off a RF Prime 500.1 at 2 Ohms. - which puts out just over 500w RMS at 2 ohms.

It will be going into an escort wagon.

I got the sub, amp, and a sheet of 3/4" mdf, now i just gotta build this bisch.

Here is what I have compiled. In multiple sub set ups, this is what the following (pretty respected might I add) people have found to be the most successful:

Corona Jeff: .9ft3 + 18in^2

Loburbon(dd dealer): .9ft3 + 20in^2 + 37hz

Ray: .95ft3 + 22in^2 + 37hz

Marlo: .85ft3 + 16in^2 + 38hz

DD website: 1.0ft3 + 38hz

Now, what I'm wondering is what the effect of all of these being multiple sub set ups, and what would be perfect for just one.

I was also wondering what people have had better luck with, slot or aero ports?

Any opinions and insight would be appreciated.

Oh, and what would be the best config? Sub back/up/front, port side/back/up/front ?

how bout 1.3 with a 4" aero..

just did that 1.

hammers. as for orientation... you will have to move it around and find whats best

but i would start with sub back port sideways
