4 channel amp rca question

My friend wants to know about his 4 channel amp. I don't have any experience with them but i just wanna make sure on something. channel 1 and 2 have an rca input and channel 3 and 4 have one.. dont you have to get an rca splitter in order to run both channels? this is dumb but i just want to make sure LOL :yahoo:

No you can get 4 ch rca's for it or u can get 2 seperate sets of rcas (2 ch) and run to it hence the Front and Rear outputs on the backs of the HU's ch 1&2 usually is the front 3&4 is the rear

Some 4 channels also have a button/switch to combine/pass through the signal to channel 3 and 4 of the amp, so channel 3 would get the same signal as channel 1 and channel 4 would get the same signal as channel 2.

his cd player is an older alpine deck, and it only has one set of rca outputs..

alright well ill have to check it out for him and see if he has the switch.. i just want him to get the most out of his amp.
