well finally broke down and had to go get a new HU. Picked up a Kenwood DNX5180 from local shop. Added a JL 8W1 to the rear deck and reinstalled the 12's and amp. Cap is sitting on my shelf for good now (note to self...caps are not worth the money). Also found out the Memphis lied about the size of the imput termials on the PR-500.1. They are NOT 1/0 gauge and never will be. Could only get the 4 gauge in there with a lot of name calling and cut up arms. Still don' think i'm getting the full output from the amp but its better than it was. Finally got it to start flexing the car on just the two lil 12's that in the trunk (all smiles on that). oh yea the flexing is with the trunk sealed up (since the back seat on an avalon doesn't fold down).

Looking to start buying for the new build soon but still unsure of what to get. I want something that is gonna beat this car to pieces but not break the bank. If anyone has any ideas let me know please!!!! I did the numbers for doing a 18" SMD in this car and it won't fit without walling the back seat off and can't do that b/c of the kiddos.

This shows the new box and JL8w1 that is in the rear deck. Also did a Carbon Fiber overlay on all the old wood style trim in the whole car. Let me know what y'all think about it. The new box has made a hell of a difference with the PR12's, they are much louder and i was able to get more out of the amp with them.

I am familiar with Toyota Avalon XLS'. My friend and dad both own one (different years) and I'm trying to convince one of them to do a sound system. Maybe I'll show them the pics to further persuade them because this install is clean and looks professional. Great work dude. And the Carbon Fiber looks excellent!

Clean system man. you need to go with the 15 AA SMD since the 18 wont fit. :)

I have been thinking about that.. the AA SMD 15" would work as long as i only try to run 1 of them. Still need room for batts and amps. Was also thinking of going with 2 or 3 DC LVL 4 12's on a 2.0K DC amp and running everything else off the DC 175.4.
