But i also heard they sound nice and can help alot with the highs. Yea i got coax in the doors I guess they sound good. never heard tweeters as themselves only in coaxs. You know how you avoid that? 1sickpuppy Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 After I got my first set of components back in '02 I never looked back. Seperate tweeters and mid-range are the best way to go. But you do have to decide on if you want textile or metal dome tweeters. I personally like textile, silk, myself I feel they are smoother and less harsh on the highs and high volume. Most, to all reputable audio brands sell tweeters and matching crossovers. My Current Project: 2006 Ford Focus ST HU: Kenwood KDC-X986 Amps: Rockford Fosgate R300-4 Hifonics Brutus BXi 1601D Sub(s): (2) Skar VVX8 want to add 2x Mids/Highs: VXI65 components (front doors), RE Pro 5x7FR (rear doors) Wiring: Big 3 done in Candace 1/0 awg. 1 run from battery to distro-block 1/0 awg. Cadance wire 4 awg Stinger wire from distro-block to amps. Electrical: stock alt. Optima Red Top.
rubbernutz1 Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 hells yeah their worth it and will make a big difference in your sound. just make sure you dont over power them cus you can fry them or thier crossovers easier than a mid or woofer
