nCOMP1337
would have to adjust a few things to keep tuning the same, but that shouldnt be a problem, i will mess with it a bit later and see if i can get to similar tuning before it was 36 wide and 24 deep, so i should be able to make 35 wide work
dwright27
I was gonna suggest 1.25:1 ratio on sizes of front and rear. 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L. nCOMP1337
how does that affect it, right now its exactly 1.75:1 ratio, i am sure i can adjust the size, but just curious how much the ratio affects it
dwright27
Probably more of a peaky response, honestly I'm unsure. 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L. nCOMP1337
I could try a design to make it closer to 1.25:1, im just really trying to keep the width if i can though its not that important, whatever box i end up building, im planning on sealing off at the trunk
nCOMP1337
Here is what i came up with for 35 wide nismo, it was tough getting the width and depth right, cause i also had to change the port for the front chamber, and the depth of the rear chamber i had to shorten the aero slightly on the inside of the rear chamber, and lengthen the slot port on the front chamber the rear:front ration is 1:1.14, i as trying to get it close to the 1.25:1 ratio dwright suggested rear is 2.04 cuft with 3.47 port area per ft tuned to 30.25Hz front is 2.35 cuft with 22.68 prt area per ft tune to 60.31Hz
nCOMP1337
NEW Design I am not sure completely how to measure these dimensions, but I considered it like 2 ported boxes being coupled together sharing a single baffle which would be the middle section where the speaker is mounted. I did the speaker this way because i think have the front wave going into one box and then continuing to the second chamber may help pressurize the front chamber when it couples with the rear wave of the woofer. Again I am very new to this. REAR CHAMBER DETAILS: Based on Torres, only calc I have right now. 16 H x 30.25 W x 7 D (outer dimensions) Port Dimensions: Aero Port 2 inch diameter by 4 inches long (external) Tuning: 34.78 Hz Net Volume: 1.28 cuft Port Area per foot: 2.45 FRONT CHAMBER DETAILS: Based on Torres 16 H x 36 W x 11 D (outer dimensions) Port Dimensions: 14.5 H x 5 W x 12 L (7 inches is external) Tuning: 69.11 Hz Net Volume: 1.90 cuft Port area per foot:38.16 1 common port wall, .14 cuft woofer displacement, some bracing displacement in both chambers 1:1.5 ratio - Rear:Front Port may be a bit large on the front, i do get about the tuning I want, but if it is large its easier to make the port smaller than trying to make it larger after its been built. fritosaregood
series tuned 6th order. this site will help you learn how to tune it. when you tune the rear to 30 and the front to 60 your front chamber is actually adding length to your rear so actual tuning may be down to ~25. but this site shows all the math behind it, its pretty simple after you read over it a few times http://www.diysubwoofers.org/bnd/6thord4.htm seller feedback: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=61719 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=68281 build log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/index.php?showtopic=44800 Gf's build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/54346-kickergirls-camaro-new-box-pg-5/#entry753970
