06 Civic Build - New Build List on page 60

So I'm going to try and get a UBL going, and I have no idea how to do it. I know I don't meet the 15 page criteria at the moment, but I think if I found all my pictures from the other pages on the other forums at the start of this build, I'd be more than over 100 pictures. Can anyone help me find out how to do a UBL? I think I have to contact a mod right?

Contacting a mod would be my first guess.

And do you mind if I put in an idea for the tablet? I got to thinking. What if you put it at a slight angle towards the driver (based off the first picture)? It wouldnt stick to the right as far (I got the idea that the clips were over that way) and you would get to keep the vent. The main issue I can foresee with that idea is that the passenger would be able to access the tablet as well as if it sits fairly straight on. Just my two cents. No need to even consider it.

I already talked to N8ball2013 about it. He's gonna get it set up sometime today or tomorrow. I just counted and I've got over 1500 pics, which are not even close to all on here. So it would be cool to track the whole thing in one thread. We'll see if it happens or not. Either way I'll keep this thread updated.

As far as moving the tablet, angling, I've thought about that already. The thing is, it's not that far away and really there isn't any benefit to angling it towards me as the driver. I can see it just fine straight, and to do what I want with it, as far as countersinking it, I wouldn't be able to do it. I talked to my wife about it last night too, and the vent that i'm loosing is the one that's pointed on me anyway. The other three, one on the right of the radio now, and then two on either side of the dash, are pointed to the back. The air circulates pretty damn well in our cars, and with the one closed off, it'll blow harder through the other three. After talking with her, she gave it the seal of approval. Not that I needed it but if she likes it then that's saying alot about the plan. She just doesn't get involved very often.

I've got to figure out these damn head light shrouds first though before I can go any further on the audio portion. And I don't want to hold it up if possible cause I've got so many ideas in my head right now, I don't want to overwhelm myself and then fizzle out. Too much to do!

So I'm going to power through on the headlights, then get the fog light retros done, which shouldn't be as difficult, and install those, the headlight retros, leds, HID's for both fogs and headlights, and then wiring up all those an the side markers. If all goes well, I should have all that done by the end of next month. So the end of September should be looking pretty bright, at night at least! HA!

I wish my family (or even friends) would be anywhere near supportive of my hobby. Only one of my friends support it. Everyone else just nags me about what I do.

Anyways, good luck with the shrouds. Not much I could say since a)I've never done work like that and b)I've never even been around a car with them.

I completely understand. I have one friend who's a car guy but not an audio guy, BMW, and then my best friend just mocks me cause I'm so crazy about it. My wife, well she just rolls her eyes and she mocks me too. My kids enjoy it with me. Guess that's gotta count for something! Otherwise the only people who get it are the folks I've met on these forums. Sad, but it's true!

Ok that's it! It's official! I've lost my freaking mind! I'm going to get crazy with the headlight shrouds, and the fog retros! Gonna finish getting them sanded and cleaned up, and then.................I have only two words.................CARBON FIBER!!!!!!!!!!! Yes! That's right, I'm gonna carbon fiber the shrouds! Real carbon fiber, not the vinyl overlay. Yep, it's gonna happen! Was kicking it around for quite a while, secretly, and then I decided with the problems that I've been having with these things, I'm just gonna do it! So, today I'm gonna stop by tap plastics, and get the carbon fiber and the epoxy resin. I'm also gonna get a can of UV sealer so it doesn't yellow under the lens there!

Got some clean up to do around the projector lens, it's not real clean as far as I'm concerned and like, so I'm gonna get that buttoned up too while I'm at it. Gonna get crazy! WOOHOO!

Carbon fiber is going to look SICK. As long it doesnt stick out like a sore thumb, which it shouldnt with the base color of the car.

My best friend is the only one that supports it. Once he gets the trans am his other buddy is supposed to sell to him, he's putting me in charge of his system.

And my kid is too young to even appreciate music.

Mine just like to be out there with me. You probably noticed my 4 year old in some of the pics. She's my clone.

Yea, when I get some more money together I'm doing the hood, roof, and trunk in CF vinyl. Unless I win the lottery, then I'll just do carbon fiber replacements! But I don't play the lotto so that's a little hard to make happen.

Mine is working on being 6 months by the end of the week.

I was considering CF vinyl for a few pieces in my ride, but they'd probably look weird. I'd have to buy new pieces before CF vinyl on them. Nasty tears in the door panels dont cover too easily.

I've been watching your logs for a couple years now. It would be great to see a UBL from the day you started. You've got some serious time into this car.
