Supercharged DCs Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Hey all, was wondering if yall can tell me a bit about aeros. I have a 14.45cube wall before displacements built in my Dakota for 2 Lv 5 18s Woofer displacement is .52, bracing displacement would be <.1 I'm wondering what my options are with aeros. I know they are more efficient and take up less space. I'm looking to get 11cubes after displacement tuned to 35hz and to have some major port area going. Soo, any recommendations? I have 17.25 internal depth and 2.25 thick baffle, so 19.5D overall. Plan Is to do subs bottom port top, since I only have 34H to work with, and Im afraid of staggering the 18s for fear of loading issues... If I could do something with aeros that will fit my wants, and possibly be able to have removable aeros so I can change between daily tuning and comps, that would be great. Quote Bassless once again. Supercharged DCs Posted July 1, 2011 Author Report Posted July 1, 2011 No one can recommend a certain size aero/ certain amount? Couple 8s maybe? Never used them so I need help! OrionStang Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 3 6"ers might work for you. I used 3 when I had my wall and 3 15's. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

OrionStang Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Can you fit 4 6" ports? 4 of them at 14" long would give you a tuning of 32 and 13.05 net volume. Might be a little on the big side. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
Supercharged DCs Posted July 1, 2011 Author Report Posted July 1, 2011 Whats the overall diameter of the 6" aeros (Im assuming it's more than 6" because of flare, may be wrong)? OrionStang Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 9 1/4" Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
Supercharged DCs Posted July 1, 2011 Author Report Posted July 1, 2011 So to have 4 6" I'd need exactly 37"H OR 37"W depending on what I decide to do. I'll have to check my measurements, but pretty sure I could do that... How far would the end of the Aero have to be from the back wall to get full efficiency? Quote Bassless once again. OrionStang Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 (edited) 6" would be best, but as little as 4" should be okay. With the depth you have it'll be fine. Edited July 1, 2011 by OrionStang Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
trulywickedcustoms Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Iv never used areos but I'd say a safe measure is the size of the flare outside diameter... Keep the port atleast that much away from the back or opposite end of the port Quote *2013 NEW BUILD* 12- 18" Crossfire XS v2's B pillar 4th order wall 4- Crossfire 8K mono blocks 40+ pro audio mids tweeters and horns 3- Singer alternator 400a external regulated alts tons of audiotechnix wire 24- XS Power D1400's -TEAM XS POWER- -TEAM CROSSFIRE- -TDH-
