4 15's ported or 5 15's sealed???

Recommended Posts

15s, 4-5 of them, comps and don't want so sacrifice any sq? You just did imo.

I know they're not the best subs but they're the best I can afford I'm going to school and only able to work part time plus I'm 18 so think it's pretty good all things considered

okay with that being said why not go like 2 18's of a good strong brand instead of kicker (not hating or anything)

Well I would but I can get a really really good deal on the kickers and it's more or less a done deal the question is now just how many

We might be able to recommend you some better subs if you give us a budget...

But I'd do 4 15s ported in at least 12cubes after displacements tuned to your liking.

Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks :)

Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.

It'll be loud no doubt any way you go. If you want that bass snappy for all types of music, 12s would be the largest I would go.

Maybe look at 8 12s sealed?

Care to embellish? I've done a lot of multiple 12s that sounds great.

the size of the subwoofer doesnt correlate to how good it will sound. honestly, the best sounding (and loudest, but that's irrelevant) stereo i've ever had the pleasure of listening to has 6 18's in it. a bigger cone just means more air movement (dont get all technical here you veterans). bigger subwoofers arent "sloppy", although you didnt directly say this, its very often thought of like that.

Understood. But with larger subs motor force comes into play and $$$. Ever heard a 18 with a weak ass motor? Or a snappy 22?

almost every non-mainstream company uses the same exact motors for every series of subwoofers that they make. example, AQ HDC3 10, 12, 15, and 18, all use the same motor. and why are you asking me if i heard an 18 with a "weak" motor, or a "snappy" 22? show me said 18 you're talking about. and heres a video of the jackhammer being destroyed by 2 Fi BL 18's on less than half the power.
