Who Fixes Burned Voice Coils?

Recommended Posts

I have an Alpine Type X 12'' that I bought off the internet, so I do not have a warranty. I was just wondering if there is anybody that can fix it, or sell me a recone kit?

Do you guys think the only problem is the voice coil or is the whole woofer trashed? She was letting out a pretty large amount of smoke....but the cone still moves easily.

Thanks!

The burnt voice-coil fairy...lol. No, you would probably have to ship it back to alpine and have them look at it. I am almost 100% sure they dont do recones. Then just hope they can fix it, and not charge you an arm and a leg.

My System:

Pioneer AVH-P3200BT

4-Dayton 7 inch reference series (front doors)

8-Onkyo 3/4 inch tweeters (dash)

1-Sundown Audio 100.4D (mids/highs)

2-18" BTL's (for now)

Crescendo 3kwp (for sale)

Complete rebuild coming soon...

Nobody will touch the alpine. they are a bitch to fuck with. dam gay baskets and the way the whole sub was designed.

So I guess the woofer is just a big, heavy, expensive paper weight now? LOL this sucks....

And I have no use for the custom box I had built that ran me another $300.....

Well you could always just try & fix it yourself, I've done that before with subs. Either that, or find a tank full of molten steel for you to toss it into, or just use it as a screw dish in the garage.
