RickyFriery97
well just from a friends install who had a pair of the 3500.1s it would not take a true 16v system. amps went up in smoke. AQ told him no more then 15.3v was that the newer models or older models? doesnt make since because they have 16v ratings on their site Don't 14v systems charge at around 16v? Maybe that's what's being referred to? EDIT: But that still wouldn't explain the 15.3v max. Hrm... yes 14v systems charge at 16v and 16v systems charge at 18v. but yea thats true, and on AQs site the AQ3500D.1 have 18v ratings Quote 2014 Chevy Silverado Crewcab 1994 Chevy Full Size blazer
AMI CUSTOMS
Want some knowledge on the AQ amps, I have it, AQ2200 daily voltage peak is 16.8, warranty is void if you take it above 14.4 volts or wire it below 1 ohm nominal. AQ3500D.1 peak burp voltage is 18.0, amp won't turn on after 18.5. Working daily voltage peak 16.8 V, again warranty void if taken above 14.4 volts or wired below 1 ohm nominal. Now having said that, I have taken my 3500d.1 down to .25 ohm nominal at 16 volts on burp, several dozen burps, not a problem yet. AMI CUSTOMS
Yup, the only time my AQ3500Ds have ever gotten hot was when I clipped them or it was 95+ degrees outside and just played them for a long time.
