I didnt connect it to the head unit itself because the head unit will not allow you to control from ipod or ipad so it would make having the ipad kinda gay you know? so i connected it to the aux in on the EQ. so it goes from rca to ipod connector. Yes it does charge i got a connector that had a power and ground coming from it also so whenever the key is in the on position it will charge. then if i want to switch to using my phone anything on the HU i just switch to the main in on the EQ. Now this wouldnt allow him to use the Ipad when it was connect, but he had it Jailbroken allowing him to do so with an app call "noaccessory" or something.
