Box Suggestions

Recommended Posts

I was wondering which box would be better for my setup.

Everything is in an '01 Dodge Ram Extended cab. I took the backseat out and have 4 12s in 2 different boxes. It pounds like a motherfucker but I know it would sound better in 1 big box.

My question is should it be bandpass or enclosed? I don't want to do a ported box because I still want it to be able to hit the really low notes.

My specs are,

2 12in Memphis PR (Power Reference) PR12S4

2 12in JL Audio W3 12W3V32

1 1600watt Boss Chaos 4-channel c800 - Bridged down to 2 ohm

So would an enclosed or bandpass box be better?

So you're running to completely different sets of subs and you want to put them into a common chamber. Thats a really bad idea. Using to different sets of subs at all is a bad idea. Also, choosing enclosed or bandpass over ported (for the lows) is a bad idea.

It would be a good idea to buy yourself matching subs and put them in a proper ported box tuned low in the 30-32hz range.

diferent subs = no

and a ported box will hit much lower and harder than a sealed box

my advice to u is scrap wut u got right now get 4 of the same subs, a mono block amp of a reputable company, and put it in a nice big ported box tuned around 32 hz
