i have a 89 supra and my engine being clean would be super cool, im mostly talking fire wall and inner fenders ect (painted bay areas). now it being what it is there is tons of electronics ect on all these sufaces, is there anyway i can clean these areas safely?

What I've done in the past was covered anything electronic with a plastic bag (alternator, PCM, distributor) sprayed everything down with Simple Green or any other degreaser, then hosed it down with some pressure. It's not perfect but it makes a good difference.

see i thought about that but its the plugs im worried about...lots of plugs in there...im afraid if i get them wet im screwed...a plastic bag i dont think would cut it...the engine im not sweating but the painted areas in the bay like the fire wall ect but there are also alot of small places like behind my abs lines ect...ill post a pic up later and maybe that will help.

You really have nothing to worry about. All those connectors should have little seal rings around them so that moisture and water can't get into them for that exact reason. Everytime I wash my car, I spray down my engine bay. Once a month I spray the motor and everything I can see with Purple Power Degreaser and it does a great job on painted, plastic, and metal surfaces. Make sure your motor is cool before you do it though.

Box: 3.1cuft box tuned to 33hz. sealed off to cabin

Big 3- done with all Knukonceptz KCA 0 gauge.

Don't drop below 14.1v at full tilt. :)

The plugs and such are sealed fine. Just don't get your air filter wet and pretty much spray away with a pressure washer. Don't be stupid, just spray the parts you want cleaned, not wires and all that. Also, if you are wanting a clean engine bay, shave and wire tuck the bay. Not point in having a 'clean' bay if there's a thousand wires all over the place.

Ive worked in a detail shop for years...dont be afraid to get stuff wet. The only thing you need to be careful of is getting water in the intake. Spray everything down with some nice engine degreaser (Go to auto zone...get the aerosol with the orange lid it works great) spray it on...let it sit, then spray it off When spraying the water keep the engine RUNNING...also if you scrub it with a brush keep it running and stay away from the fan and any moving parts. After your done rinsing...hop in the car and give it some gas for a few seconds and shut it off...whip it down and then apply some shine

if all else fails you could always use paper towels and some kind of cleaner :lol:

My car's 15 years old and I had no issues, other than where I had a breached injector O-ring I didn't know about. Water puddled around it and snuffed that cylinder out until it all dried out. Yours most likely won't do that because IIRC the 7M-G(T?)E motors don't have a retarded-ass intake design like my L82 does.

well the 7m does have a ton of places for water to rest and ruin things but knowing where they are should help, ill give it a shot.
