Hi all,

I'm rebuilding my wall soon, Im thinking about doing a drivers side port tuned to around 28hz.

Kit will be level 5 18s, 6k.

What box volume and port area would you suggest for a flat wall with drivers side port?

I've used them in 5.5cuft each but if I can gain more output with volume I will do it, as long as it retains a flatish response.

Cheers dudes.

DC recommends 6 cubes per sub but since youre giving the subs less power than they can handle i think you should be able to make them a little bigger than 6 cubes and youll get more output

The testing format I compete in is called propper droppers, we test at the head rest at 40hz, 33hz, 25hz, 20hz and a peak... the scores are them averaged out to give a final score.

I've used 35hz tuning with 18sq" and my average score was 151.5 (peak 154.9), I then blocked up half the port area 9sq" tuned to 25hz and averaged a 152.5 (155.2 peak) and all my other scores rose too.

I know you guys always tune mid to high 30s with massive ports but I haven't had good results with it, as I say I've had better results from using 9sq" per cube with uber low tuning.... and it sounded better, tighter, shifted more air, smoother. I think I'm gonna use 10-14sq" next.

The car is a vw lupo, tiny car :D.
