Using this link instead http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/accessories.jsp?category=Storage#1311276721449. I own the Toshiba 2TB Toshiba USB 3.0 Desktop EHD. It has not given me any problems yet, owned it for about a year now. USB 3.0 is the way to go, if you don't have USB headers on your pc don't worry. It works with USB 2.0/1.1 also.

Best bang for your buck, the 3TB EHD are getting into the $149 range, so based on the $109.99 price point for the 2TB it is a good deal. My local store FRY's has 2TB USB 2.0 drives for $69.

Does it need to be portable? Does it have to be a pre-assembled external hard drive? Is price a factor?

You may be offended by the above. Don't take it personally, I'm just abrasive.
