yeah i threw some decaf on it today while i was thare it took it like a champ man props to sundown jacob builds some nice clean subs keep up the good work

Looks fantastic. Is it an underhung woofer? Also that motor is massive on the rest of the driver, lol. Oh and I noticed no pole vent, any reason why?

No -- it is over-hung still but the top plate grew in height.

Yes, there is a reason for no pole vent :drink40:

Well... problem was I couldn't fit the gap vents in the back plate with the magnet ID shorting ring I added for this prototype. Not enough room from the ring to the pole for the vents.

No gap vents = no SA style cooling

So I went to the SD-2 style venting... solid pole + vented coil former. The solid pole cools well and the vented former helps prevent some of the efficiency loss of a solid pole (too much pressure build-up).
