Well, it seems to be working, at least somewhat. I know that it isnt gonna charge my batteries 100%, but will it hurt them by using this type of charger? FaTbOy911 Posted July 26, 2011 Report Posted July 26, 2011 U nee an agm charger Had an estimate of 6400 for an alpine/clarion setup dealer said it "should" hit around 160db with the custom boxes he was going to make for me..doubtful with so much area to move but, budget is way below that any ideas on cheaper brands for that kind of Spl setup? really didnt want to try any Boss or soundstorm, thinking Quantum figure around $150 per speaker "$1800 total" and $1700 to power it, first actual big setup for the van. Airborne Posted July 26, 2011 Report Posted July 26, 2011 I have been charging batteries since I was a kid and never heard of this being an issue. How does the voltage know it's charging an AGM as opposed to a lead/acid battery?

The only difference I notice so far is the agm charger was charging between 14 and 15 volts, and this one stays around 12.5 - 12.9 But it is charging them! Oh and I did switch it to 2a. This charger is 25 years old, you believe that shit! The other one was only about a year old! IDK???
