tp619 Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 hello I just picked up a JL 1000/1 v2 and i had it installed and i get no output through the subwoofers. I tested the amp in my friends car and it works. but when i put it into my car there is power but no output. (i also just put in all new wires) i am not sure what the problem is..? any explanations?
kam311 Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 I would check your rca's first, make sure they are connected on both ends HU and amp. Then check and make sure that your speaker wires didn't come out of the subs or anything like that. If you have a dmm tho you are going to want to use it to troubleshoot, much faster! Or even just a tester with a light. Check of the rca's are getting power, and if they are connected right and it doesn't work you may have damaged them and you might need new ones. If none of this works then someone a bit more qualified might have to help you lol. That's just where I would start if I were you so far... tp619 Posted July 31, 2011 Author Report Posted July 31, 2011 well i just bought new RCA and remote wires and still the same thing.. i rechecked and made sure all fuses were intact. and still the same. idk maybe it could be my deck. i know the amp and subs work i tested them in 2 different cars and it worked in both cars.

And if they do then check at the other end of the rca's also. Just cause the rca's are new doesn't mean that they couldnt have come with a defect, or that you didn't accidentally damage them during the install. But if the amp and subs work in other vehicle it is logically a problem in your output to the amp somewhere. so far... Quiet Posted August 1, 2011 Report Posted August 1, 2011 an easy check is to use a 3.5mm to rca cable and plug your mp3 player or phone directly to the amp. You can also put a CD with tones in your HU, set it on repeat track, then put it at half volume. You should have a measurable voltage coming out of the RCAs. Good Luck! 2007 Pacifica Rebuild.
