Last time it took about 5 hours with a sledgehammer, but this time I got the "pickle fork" ball joint/idler/pitman arm puller and it only took about 45 minutes. Noticed that I lost a couple upper control arm cross shaft shims, but since they fix the camber during a front end alignment, the shop should add/remove as many as needed. need 1 more 3/4" sheet of the sanded plywood for the bedframe and 3-4 more 1/4" sheets for the ceiling plus a couple L-brackets, replace door seals and driver side window crank. both of the lower ball joints will be done in the next week or 2, then I can get the alignment, THEN I can finally start thinking about speakers Out with the old, in with the new. Grelko Posted August 25, 2011 Author Report Posted August 25, 2011 Got the bed frame back in the other day, a decent sized shelf on each side, hinged half of the bed frame floor for storage underneath and a couple locks so it won't rattle too much if I hit bumps on the road. Been sanding spots lately, started to hit a few with primer plus the step up in the sliding door part. Will check over the primered spots for smaller dents/scratches that didn't fill in all the way then, add more bondo and start the process over. Started the ceiling earlier today. Should have some pics up tomarrow. Grelko Posted August 25, 2011 Author Report Posted August 25, 2011 Thanks, the insulation isn't bad, actually half decent sound deadener probably because its about 4" thick, but I had the room and it's cheap so why not lol. It's not too bad in the winter anymore. Also keeps it a little cooler in the summer which is a good thing since I don't have an AC. I'm hoping to have enough room between the wood and van ceiling for atleast a small layer of insulation there also which would muffle the bass rattling even more. It's still going to take a long time to finish but, If I get enough done I might be able to get it in some cruises/shows by next summer. If all goes as planned so far, I should be ordering my first couple speakers by late september early october. Hopefully I'll be able to finish up the ceiling tomarrow. Got it all cut and put in except I kept breaking screws even after I drilled holes, so I'm just going with carpet there instead. Putting in the last 2 pieces of ceiling in the morning, then probably back to doing body work. Getting some ideas together for the dashboard and doors.
