THEKINGsBACK Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 Well I've been the market for subs for a while.. and if all goes accordingly I hope ill have some nice Motors for PSI to build into a working Woofer. Well I was actually on you site and just became curious as to how much this was possibly going to run me and REALLY threw me for a ride.. I'm trying to find out what actually makes a low end monster just that. I know its coils and cones and all the stuff for the woofer but what honestly makes one Coil different from another..and things like that. I hope this doesn't sound to ignorant or vague. Im looking to build 2 12 inch subs that eat lows for dinner.... what specific parts do i need? he wouldnt be the first to say they did a 167 with a system like that (one that clearly DOESNT), but i have to say, he didnt beat me anywhere, ive never competed against the guy. If he thinks his does a 167, mine would probably put him in a coma. :hairtrick:
RAM_Designs Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 I'd request something that has a Fs in the 20's, Qts in the .3-.5 range, and keep the Vas under 3ft^3(~85L). That'll give you a pretty ported friendly woofer that will do well in 2.25-2.5ft^3 with a 28-30hz tuning.
