02z71
i have a decent pioneer head unit that's not even a year old and today my subs began to make a loud thump noise as soon as the head unit comes on. it also makes a quieter noise when i skip songs on a cd. i know pioneers are bad about this due to a design issue and some had told me to ground my rca wires. would this help? and if it would how would i do it? also, my amp is grounded in a good spot that i had no problems with until today. tonedeaf
Alot of the time its actually just loose wiring. I had this issue when I had my subs plugged into the right terminal on my amp. Plugged them into the left and its all dandy. Id try looking at all your wiring/tightening what needs to be tightened. That all being said, sometimes the RCAs/preouts just start going bad. List your setup for more help.

yessam430
I ran into that before like @tonedeaf said its probably your wiring somewhere causing the subs to pop. Also check to see if the amp is blown. I had an old school sony xplod and it was blown, almost blew my subs apart. I -2fi ssd 15's -1 2200 Power Acoustiq mono ...TO BE CONTINUED...
