Dd-1 help please!

Hey guys got my DD-1 in today and went straight to setting my amps. I checked where my headunit clipped at and it's 28 on a Alpine CDA-117. Then I set my full range amp and saw where it detected distortion and back it down. Then I moved to my sub amp which is a kicker 750.1 I ran test track 5 and strews adjusting my gain but I was able to turn it to the max on the gain without the distortion led coming on, I then turned bass boost to a quarter and reset my gain and got the distortion light at about 3/4 gain. Is this okay to set my amp like this? I mean I know this is the most badass tool out and it works perfectly I'm just really suprised about turning my gain up so high so any input on this?

thats cause your using a down xx db track.

you have the newer style test cd so i dont know how low that is, but prob a -10db track.

Ya your correct it is a -10 db track. Should I use track 3 instead which is a -5 db track. The manual says use track 3,5 or 7 with 3 being maximum sound quality 7 resulting in a louder system an 5 being a compromise.

i like -5 on the mids/highs amp and -10 on my bass.

some people will like -5 and -5......but there is probably some maniacs out there that will like -15 on bass lol!

Man I love it. I've already used it on 3 different cars and I'm looking for more! I have used -10 on the sub amps I've used so far and I'm about to set a full range amp. My only question is if the user uses their iPod to listen to music and just play downloaded songs from the internet should I use one track over the other to set it with? (Not downloaded songs that have been fixed like decaf's music) but other than that one question the thing is easy to use and definitely makes system's sound way better. On one car the gain was set to a little past 1/4 and now it's a little under 3/4 and pounding away!
