D-Train's door panel build.

Recommended Posts

alright guys. im finally trying out my door panel build.

first time doing this so any input is appreciated. i didnt really know where to start so heres some pics. enjoy

IMG00141.jpg

i have one crecendo supertweeter as well as a 6 inch and 8 inch selenium midbass driver going in each door

i had limited tools at my disposal lol. i know the cuts are crooked. ill clean it up as i go.

im pretty bad about taking pictures lol. so heres the first test fit to make sure everything clears

IMG00147.jpg

it hit the seatbelt cover. (this time i realized i needed to measure everything first)

IMG00148.jpg

so i moved over some of the wood supports. to get it to clear

IMG00151.jpg

after that was all fixed it was pretty much done.

IMG00149.jpg

IMG00152.jpg

so now i just have to do the resin and sanding portion. its been raining like crazy the past couple days so i couldnt do much.

thanks for any input

Good start. Are you Planning on a sealed enclosure for your mids? If not four out the holes behind the speakers so you can sink them in if you need more clearance.

yeah i need to push the speakers in more to the door its gonna be close and i dont want the 6in to be rubbing up against my seat.

hopefully ill have them 90% done next week. i have to re wrap them because the fleece streched some more from the heat. (lesson learned)

ill post some more pictures when i get the chance. thanks for the help

and i havent looked into a sealed mids enclosure. would it help if it was?

D-train what kinda car is this going into?

If you have plans for a rear deck I have some (4) 8in seleniums I'm going to post for sale soon. I never used them or even wired to a amp yet. Im runnin with some different speakers on my build, so don't really need these seleniums.

its a 2000 f150. i dont have a rear deck. i think what i have going in will be more than enough to compensate for the bass. and i just purchased the last of my seleniums.

thank you though ill definitely remember that if i still need something for the back.
