drckiss
I am trying to design a wall in a wedge shape, for 1 18" mt dual 1.4. should be seeing around 5500 watts. I need some help with the design though. My dimensions are as follows I have (2) height dimensions, from where the sub is mounted will be 28" tall and the back will be 16" tall, the enclosure will be 32: wide and 40" deep I want straight spl or hell maybe even a little bassrace it just depends on what you may be able to come up with. BTW this will be installed in an acura rsx hatch, small area, right now I have a crx design sub up port back hitting 145.1 on the TL. I need it louder please help me guys
meade916
is this wedge a full blown "triangle"? Is the face with the angle 28"? Is that INSIDE dimensions or outside? If its outside then take 1.5" off each measurement but for now to give you the idea ill use the numbers you gave me. the trick to finding your airspace on those is to turn that triangle into an imaginary square on paper.......do all the work then when your all done divide it in half basicly. so if i read your post right you should do this 40 x 32 x 16 = 20480 / 1728 = 11.85 ft3 <~~~~Ok thats your number if it was a rectangle or square shaped box. Divide that by 2 = 5.9 ft3 total (because its a triangle not a square). Now dont forget that particular sub uses .25 cubes and your port, whichever you decide on, will also chew up some space. drckiss
It is a wedge, front facing the driver is 28" tall, where the sub and port will be, and slanting back toward the hatch glass is the other height that is 16". the face that the sub and port is on is 32" wide. the depth of the box going from front to back. is 40" all of these dimensions are to the outside. I just thought I would be able to build a wedge install the sub have a big azz port the install a beauty panel to seal off the airspace behind the box.
