Jonnyrxt
Hey guys just got two Obsidian 12's and looking to build a box for them. I have a 2008 Jeep Liberty that they are going in and would really like to tune it low. Any help would be great. Right now I have them in a 1.5 cube slot port box. big dee
Dawm bro that box is small! You need imo 2 cubes per sub atleast. You have the specs on the subs?

Electrodynamic
The ideal alignment per 12" woofer is 1.75 ft^3 tuned to 32 Hz. I've got my three 12's in 2 ft^3 each tuned to 30 Hz and the low end is a bit on the retardedly loud side. They are literally tearing my CRX apart bit by bit. I'm having to rip everything out and bolt down the enclosure because it jumps too much if I play screwed music. I enjoy how they sound but the extra 0.25 ft^3 per driver is not necessary in order to get them to play loud or low. Quote Electrodynamic Power handling is not a power requirement! Don't install suckage! Simon Eichenberger is the man. My PM's are disabled.
RAM_Designs
3.5-4ft^3 with a low 30's tuning will work well. Unless you're running under 1kw to the pair, there's really no need to go larger. Or you can try a bandpass.
