anyone who knows about the DD1, I have a question... When you set the gains with the DD1, is the distortion point gonna change if you are running at .25 ohm, .5 or 1 ohm? How about when the voltage drops?

The reason I ask is I just set the gains with the DD1 but... The subs get hot as hell fast... Now, I was told that if you can keep the voltage up a DC 5k should do about 6500-7k at .5 ohm. So that means each sub is seeing about 1700 each, how long does it take to break these dam things in??? LOL!

Other than being stiff still (I played moderately for 12 hours while driving home)(With an occasional blast here and there) the only thing I can think of is that at .5 ohm it is clipping.

I've heard a few people say the lvl 4s don't like 1500+ so they just upgraded to XLs

also what track did you use to set the gains?

7??

lol thats your reason right there, use track 5.

What is the difference?? (I was thinking that was for SQ and 7 was for SPL?) Also, thank you for the help!

It has to do with how music is recorded I believe (-15db, -10db..etc) A LOT of songs are recorded louder than -15db especially decaf. So you may not be clipping at -15db but if you play a song louder than -15db you will be clipping.

Ahhhhh makes perfect sense! I listen to only decaf and pimp! They need a dam DC/PMP (decaf/big pimpin track) loL! I am gonna regain here in a few mins!

Thanks!
