weird problem

hey guys im new to the fourm but not so new to car audio

but for some reason this problem has me been giving me trouble

alright so a customer brings in his car and wants to change everything back to stock before he sells it

so i thought no problem

the aftermarket radio wasnt playing when he brought it in so i took al the aftermarket stuff out and switched everything back to stock....

well now with everything stock besides the door speakers the stock radio does NOT play so i thought maybe it was the speakers so i switched them all out with brand new alpine speakers and it still isnt working...

i have checked EVERYTHING fuses, wires, wiring harness and everything! radio and everything works right beside it has no sound

so can you guys plz help me out the guy is suppose to be picking up his car on monday and id like to have his car done for him

Factory amp? what car

yes and 2007 honda civic coupe ex model with "premium sounds system" ....i made sure everything was hooked back up to the amp but idk how to tell if the amp is on or not

have you tried switching out the head unit maybe something is wrong with the it

yea i have switched out the head unit with a pioneer that i got brand new of the box in our shop and it still doesnt make any sound... i have NO CLUE whats going on

ONLY thing i can think off is the radio isnt getting enough power, to play sound but enough to make it light up and stuff? but idk how that would be possible....

i can try that but im not sure what wires are what and i cant find any diagrams on it .......... and im a little scared of cutting up a customers car if it was mine id say fuck it and do it but i dont wanna mess up this mans car

Here is my question. Did the factory harness get cut leaving you having to hardwire it. If I were you where you stand at the moment, I would have a DMM out testing 12v, ground, etc on both sides of the factory harness.

Also, if it was me I would've asked the customer " did it play before " and " when did it stop working " .

Will do as much as I can to help you out.

The way to test if the amp is on is to test the amp turn on lead from the harness, see if it has 12v when the ignition is on. If it has 12v at harness, cool, then go check @ the amp and see if it has 12v there. If it has it there too, then amp might be your problem. Have you not tried bypassing it?
