The reason I dident go with a 4" is its less efficient, The idea behind the woofer was to be able to street beat the snot out of it as well as burp with the best of em and a 3 inch coil fit the project a little better with the efficient thing What Ive done though to maximize its performance is most woofers use a 4 layer round wire coil, I am useing a 8 layer flat wound aluminum coil and made it as long as we could.
