Jayr0071 Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 hello everyone, I'm new here and would like to some inputs for a new system I'm trying to build. My previous car was an ml320 with a bose premium sound system and the bass was perfect. Currently my 530i does not have any bass and would like to build a similar bass output, I'm not looking to crazy bass. My last build was over 8yrs ago and with 2 12" subs the whole car rattle, now i'm looking for a more OEM bass. Before i start building and buying parts, I'd like some inputs and some recommendations. I'd like to go with an 8" or 10" sub facing into the cabin, similar to this: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=157648&d=1219369580 From what i'm reading it might sound better if its ported...similar to this: http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l244/Soloact/09033.jpg What do you guys think? What setup would be better, sealed box or ported? Is it a good idea to make the sub face the cabin? and what size speaker do you recommend?
6berry Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 it sounds like you would be happy with the sound of just a single 8" or 10" sub in a sealed box. a sealed box would get you better sq than a ported box 1999 Audi A4 1.8T::: 4 - DC Level 3 10's in a 4th order Rockford P6002 on Subs for now (3-3.5k coming eventually) MB Quart ONX4.60 for Mids and Highs Boston S50 Components in Front Boston S65 Coaxials in Rear 40 Sq Ft of Second Skin Damplifier Build Thread UBL 1948 Plymouth
