The main thing it does is jack up the line pressure and raises shift points on tranny. It changes minor settings with fuel/air, but the feeling of more power comes from positive shifting transmission. The AOD ford shifts like a turd without a programmer IMO yeah i hear ya. my AOD shits like crap. it doesnt have any low end power. and i didnt want to spend the money to regear my rear end. Problem with that is, a lot of parts like headers and CAI require a reflash of the ECU. You can change options on the tune for gearing, tire size, adjust air/fuel and spark, set the rev limiter, governer and shift points. If you can afford it...
