Help with my first box? :)

So I am making speaker boxes for a school project. Actually, it's for FFA but I'm not quite sure on something. For my drivers, mtx says I need 1.5 cu ft, 3 in port that is 11 inches long. So if I want to make a box for two, can I just make a 3 cu ft box with a 6 inch port? This might be the dumbest question ever. But I'm really not sure. I would appreciate any input.

I had the same problem when trying to design my box for 2 subs, i didn't know what to do. But i kinda took the approach that each subs needs its specific air and port, so i combined ports(well instead of 2 circle ports i made a slotted).

I could be wrong, im still building the box for 2 subs so i cant tell you if i f'ed up or not with port(its the only thing im worried about), and this is the first time i designed from start, usually i just cut the wood and build it for people)

I designed my box using Torres and BassBox Pro 6 and i got it close to the sub specs.

use the torres calculator like stated before..you want 3 cubes after displacement..displacement meaning the subs displacement and port displacement..torres does all that for you..also try to stay within 12-16 square inches of port for the box

This isn't teeball. YOU DO NOT GET A TROPHY JUST BECAUSE YOU SHOW UP. Put the work in and then maybe get the respect when it has been earned

mtx should say what the displacement for you subs is..forgot to mention that lol my bad :) then put it in the calculator under the sub displacement section

Do you have any experience at all with the Torres Box Tuning Calculator that's towards the top of this forum?

If you want to build as per MTX recommendations, take the plan they give you and mirror it for the other sub. Basically you'll have two single boxes attached to each other except you'll need only one wall dividing the two chambers and not two.

Headunit - Sony DSX-200X

Subs - (2) Modified American Bass 18's

Monoamp - DD M4

Front Stage - CDT HD62-AS components with

4 Crescendo PWX 6.5

4 Channel Amp - Hifonics ZRX1000.4

Cadence 0 gauge

Singer 275 amp Alt

D7500 XS Power battery

Quad 1/0 input Toolmaker terminals

SMD OM-1

RGB LEDs
