daniel1204
Hi All I Have brought some components for a cheap system nothing amazing just while im on my P Plates this will be enough, So i have 2 Subwoofers Clarion WQ3010D Link http://www.clarion.com/us/en/products/2011/audio/subwoofers/WQ3010D/us-en-product-pf_1259459740260.html The subs are 1500w max and 500w Rms each i have 2 amps that are 800 max and 400 rms @ 2ohm No problem with this. The Subs dont give a recommended Box type but the info that came with them is as Follows they do however give dimensions and info for each type The Spec sheet is here http://www.clarion.com/us/en/MungoBlobs/754/951/WQ3010D.pdf Max 1500w Continuous 500w Sensitivity 83db Impedance 4ohms + 4 ohms Sealed enclosure Recommendations Internal Aera 1.25 cu. ft or 35.40L Qtc 0.83 H 14" (35.56) cm W 24" (60.96) cm D 10 (25.40 cm Ported Recommendations Internal volume 2.0 cu. ft F3 -3db point (HZ) 28 Fb Tuning Frequency (HZ) 32 H 13.5" (34.29) W 16.5" (41.91) D 23" (58.42) Port Diameter and Length -inch (cm) 4x13.2 (10.16x33.53) And i dont know what these are for but ill post them cause you guys may know. F o Resonate Frequency 28hz Vas Equivalent Stiffness 58.5L Qts Total Electromechanical Dampening 0.70 Sd 530.9 Cm3 I want a dual ported enclosure for these specs and there is a note down the bottom saying that the volume is measured before speaker and or port displacement how to i calculate this??? And the External dimensions are based on the use or 3/4" (1.9cm) material. The problem is what are all the other numbers for? And will these speakers suit a ported or sealed enclosure better? Thanks all In Advance I Am Never Wrong, Just Often Mistaken......
D-train-13k
try downloading the torres box calculator in the subwoofer enclosures part of the forum. it would be alot easier to explain what to do if you had that program and could play with the numbers. or you could always pay "ray" to design you a box. lol The IrishmanCheck out my build hereXL 4th order wall build logIn Progress:alpine cda HU4th order Bandpass2xl 15's1- ab 400.1 (gonna be two hopefully)4- Crescendo 8's2- xts crecendo supertweeters 2 sq super tweetsMb quart 4.125Mechman 270a alt1- xs D27003- xs XP3000 4- odessey pc1700seller feed back threadhttp://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/136418-d-train-13k/

skittlesRgood
probably best for you to pay for a design. if you try to do it yourself, you will do it wrong. nothing personal, we all built a fucked up box or two when we were noobs. paying for the design will be cheaper than a wasted sheet of wood. D-train-13k
i agree with skittles. and even a box that looks good on paper can sound awful if its not made for the car. but however if you do decide to wait up and learn as much as you can about the stuff before you try your hand at it feel free. and good luck. there are alot of smart people on this forum and lots to learn The IrishmanCheck out my build hereXL 4th order wall build logIn Progress:alpine cda HU4th order Bandpass2xl 15's1- ab 400.1 (gonna be two hopefully)4- Crescendo 8's2- xts crecendo supertweeters 2 sq super tweetsMb quart 4.125Mechman 270a alt1- xs D27003- xs XP3000 4- odessey pc1700seller feed back threadhttp://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/136418-d-train-13k/

I am Capable of making a box thats not the problem if it was sealed then no problem. But the whole ported thing makes me iffy cause the whole tuning frequency and port dimensions and eg length width and all that makes me want to leave it to the pros so yeah i will get that all sorted thanks everyone I Am Never Wrong, Just Often Mistaken......
