Twostrokeking Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 Okay well i have a 10" mtx thunder 4000 under the back seat of my truck in a small sealed box. the sub sounds great inside the truck but outside u cant really tell that i have a sub. I want to be heard more but i dont have a lot of money. My buddy works at a stereo shop and is making me a ported box that will take up more then half of under my back seat. Will this make a huge difference?? here is the sub and the box i got. fmedina Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 Yes you'll get more output with a ported enclosure. Just make sure your friend is building it by the sub's specs. What's the specs of the enclosure?
carlosg_313 Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 its not about being heard from the outside, its all about what you can hear in the inside. yes a ported box will be louder, but that eliminates the sound quality and turns it to sound pressure. but then again, sound quality can be had depending in the application. also, a ported box will be a bigger box than the sealed box you have. How do the Japanese feel about bass? You know that since 03/11/11 Progene? I just saw that stuff on CNN. They said it makes your junk shrink all up. lol.im pretty sure the op wont even notice if it gets even smaller. Refs - Pstone11, porksoda, coleman
