pimpnFosgates Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 i got a set of mb quart 6.5 components and i got the woofers in a box and i t sounds bad. im thinking about putting them in the rrear deck like in the new chrysler 300's. but that would leave them free air. does anyonehave an idea whether this will sound better or not?cuz it sounds pretty bad now. DRCinc Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 if you have bass free-air is a bad idea, just because the air would push the cones up and they might go past X-max. keep them in the box until you can upgrade, you also didnt provide your amp, settings on HU and all that other fun stuff Quote

fmedina Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 Check the x-over on you amp or Hu. Power as well make sure you're not clipping. And Idk why putting them in the rear deck would be a problem because most mid range drivers are designed for free air applications. Quote

Guest Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 how about you wait more than 7 minutes before bumping a thread. car speakers are generally made to be put in a free air environment, like a door or a rear deck. take them out of the box and mount them normally and see if its any different Quote
