70 Amp Alt Not Cutting It?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I've got a MKIV jetta gls and i've been trying to find out why my voltage has been dropping super low and I believe it now to be my alternator.

Currently i'm running a 1200w hifonics on it and I really think its dropping so low because its only a 70 amp alternator.

Would I be right in assuming this? And no, i havn't done the big 3 yet, because its an absolute bitch to get to my alternator. =]
