I have an alienware aurora r3 motherboard and tower along with the power supply it came with. Intel I5 2500k processor 8gs of ddr3 corsair vengence ram (2) nvidea geforce gts 450 cards (1) 500g sata harddrive(i dont know the brand) this is the hard drive the OS loads off (1) 1T western digital caviar black hard drive (this is brand new, no data on it) Thermaltake contac 30 heatsink, the processor is not overheating So my problem is that whenever I start the computer, during bootup on the windows XP load screen is flashes a blue error screen and resets. It does this endlessly. I pulled the ram and checked to make sure both are working -check- Removed one of the graphics cards because i havent been able to boot up to turn on the SLI Romved the new harddrive Then I pressed f8 during bootup and turned off the automatic reset error option Its sitting on the blue error screen and this is my error Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer. Technical information: *** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xB84C3524,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000) Could my OS be infected or have a problem? I have heard that i may need to boot off my XP disk and hit "repair" instead of reformatting it ANY help is greatly appreciated!! XP was already on my hard drive from my old computer, I don't have money for a better OS. n8ball2013 Posted October 21, 2011 Report Share Posted October 21, 2011 it will never work then. you're hard drive is loaded with drivers for the old computer. you cant just take a hard drive from one and slap it into another. That is your problem. If your hard drive is a sata hard drive you need to load the drivers because xp does not support sata natively.but since you dont have a useable os htat point is moot. buy an os and load it problem goes away. I really need my files on that hard drive i recommend to just put the hard drive in a computer, back up ALL the files that you want, wipe the hard drive, reinstall windows, put backed up files back on. You should download Windows 8 Developer Preview it is free until later next year when the final version comes out. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/apps/br229516 This way you can transfer all your data or files to your 1TB drive.
