''Bassman'' Posted October 22, 2011 Report Share Posted October 22, 2011 Okay guys wondering what yall think i should do as far as buying a new alt and batts, i currently have a d3400 and a d3100 on a stock 105 amp alt, should i (A) get 2 more d3100s and keep the stock alt or ( get 1 d3100 and one 230 amp singer alt.... plan on doing 2 sundown 4500's yes i know ill need more batts than that but for temporary... Socky Posted October 22, 2011 Report Share Posted October 22, 2011 For now i would just get the d3100 and the singer alt, is that the biggest alt they make for your truck? if not i would try to get the biggest one so you wouldnt have to upgrade it again down the road. When all said and done after you get the money for the batteries i would have a minimum of 5 since those amps love the power. I have 3 with total output at over 1000amps and 6 xs1400s on 10k plus. I only drop .2 fulltilt. If I just run 1 350 amp alt it will drop almost a full volt or more. This is all above idle. This is all above idle. its a 87 jeep cherokee, i checked with singer and this is the biggest direct bolt on i can get without customizing a bracket for a bigger one... so diff go with 1 alt and the 1 d3100 to add on to what i got now?
