Hadec
I was going to buy (2) Fi BL either 12" or 15" subs. They are both 1500 RMS at 2 ohms. So together they are 3000 RMS. Where can I buy a cheap amp to power 3000w RMS at 2 ohms? Or am I mistaken and it needs to be 1500w at 2 ohms? www.ficaraudio.com/sess/utn;jsessionid=154b7b0660de75a/shopdata/0050_Speakers/0020_BL/product_overview.shopscript Edited October 26, 2011 by Hadec Quote Working on my first car audio build ever! jagblazer01
why dont you get D4s and run them both at 1ohm? Its alot easier to find a 3k amp that does power at 1ohm rather then 2 Edit: didnt realize they dont make D4s. Get D1s and run the pair at 1ohm Edited October 26, 2011 by jagblazer01 Quote Team Sundown Audio / Team XS Power / Team SHOK SMD Super Buyer/Sellerwww.sundownaudio.com www.shokindustries.com www.4xspower.com www.excessiveamperage.com
Skullz
Audiopipe 3k will be the cheapest new, getting something used in good shape with 3k power will be the next option but your budget i guess will dictate what your wanting to get. Hadec
Thanks, I will look into those amps. I am a little confused with the amps though. http://www.audiopipe.com/products/amplifiers/ap/ap-30001d.html 3000W x 1 @ 2 Ohm Does this mean it will power only one sub at 3000w? I will either have it set up behind the back seats or in my trunk. Which do you guys prefer? I have pictures of both areas of my old Lexus. DGold
What is your budget like? Maybe I missed it but yes definitely get 2 D4's and run at 1ohm. Depending on your budget, can then figure out an amplifier. DGold
The Audiopipe may be the way to go then. I will look around a little. 3000x1 @ 2 ohms means if you had 1 speakers ran at 2 ohms it would receive 3000 watts. Since you're running 2 speakers at 2 ohms they will each receive half of that, so 1500 per sub. I will look again to verify but I am pretty sure the 3k is just two 1500s strapped internally, or atleast they use to be, so you could run that amp at 1 ohm and get 1500 to each sub. I will check that tho, give me a sec. DGold
haha yeah they would, or if you save up a little a Crescendo 3k would make you very happy, i believe they are around 550. That Audiopipe will work fine tho aslong as you wired it up correctly.
