+ZER0Hz+
I didnt think that this fit in the Sketchup Bordom Thread, so i put it here. The tutorial i saw for flared ports was ok, but didnt do what i wanted it to do, so i did some research, and now im posting a step by step (so that even a noob could do) tutorial on how to do flared ports. First, start with a circle (mine was 10") Then another smaller circle from the center (5" for mine)(to snap to the center hover over an endpoint in the circle and then move to the center) Raise the inner circle (6") (push/pull tool) (I seem to have lost the picture and dont feel like making another) Delete all the surfaces (the parts that are colored) so that you only have a wireframe (select tool) Draw the diameter with the line tool of the larger circle Draw a line from where the diameter of the larger circle intersects with the lower small circle to the top small circle Make an arc from the intersection of the diameter and the edge of the outer circle to the intercetion of the line we just made with the top small circle Delete the surfaces, except for the arc This part is more in detail Select the follow me tool Quote 2009 VW Rabbit 2-Door: Pioneer AVH-X1600DVD Kicker CX600.1 (Kicker "Certified" 638wrms@2ohm) NVX VCW124 @2 Ohm, ~1.25 ft^3 Sealed box Stock Doors; (4) 6.5's, (2) 4's, (4) 1" Tweets Owner/Founder of RT Photography Canon Traitor who moved to Fujifilm
+ZER0Hz+
Select the surface of the arc Follow the outer circle until the flare is completed. Look at the bottom and delete everything except for the top small circle, the big circle, and the flare itself Selct the flare, and circles (triple click with select tool) and make the flare a group (Command + G on Apples, CTRL + G on windows (i may be wrong)) make a circle on the top of the flair (see above on how to snap to center) Extend the circle (push/pull) (any length) Delete the two circular surfaces to get this: Copy the first flare (CTRL + C) (Command + C) Paste (CTRL + V) (Command + V) Flip 2nd flair group with move () tool Place on top using move tool Select the whole thing and make a group Apply whatever you want!! There you go, Have fun, tell me if you have any issues!!! +ZER0Hz+
the fun part is fitting it to your box edit: this tutorial doesnt account for the thickness of the material of the port... im too lazy to do it. +ZER0Hz+
probably for if you line it up with the square it will show the scale to get a guesstamate of the size so you can see approx. how big an object is edit: i wanna see someone try the port, post up pics!
