miniSPLlancer
I'm Debating between 2 LVL 5 12's or 2 XL 12's. I just want to know how much do these subs want? Basically i want to make sure I'll have the electrical to support what they'll want. I can do about 5k total. Don't know if the LVL 5's will laugh at that. Maybe the XL's would like the 5k better? skyhighcaraudio
i would do the XLs on that power. from what ive found the lvl 5s that i had liked AT LEAST 3000+ each I have 4 XLs on a 12k now at 15.2 volts and .5 ohm so they are seeing some decent power and dont get stinky or anything Edited October 28, 2011 by skyhighcaraudio Quote Contact us for the best quality cables and accessories with the fastest shipping in the industry EMAIL: [email protected]<script data-cfhash='f9e31' type="text/javascript"> /* */</script> LIKE US ON FB: https://www.facebook.com/SkyHighCarAudio ADD ME ON FB: https://www.facebook.com/jon.rabe.1 MONSTER SKY HIGH/DC GMC: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/127057-sky-high-monster-gmc-walk-through-12-lvl-5-15s-6-9ks-trim-panels-and-wiring-p-90/

Cashdollar2009
If you are using a 5,000wrms amplifier, you are going to see even less power after voltage drop, efficiency, and all rise. Go with the XL's for sure. Supercharged DCs
Two BC2000s are $680 as opposed to $900 for the BC5500, could be why. OP, my Lv5 18 that I have left laughs at the BC2000, so I'd do XLs. Quote Bassless once again. miniSPLlancer
Why not just get a single 5500? I actually already have one bc2000 so just adding another is cheaper than selling my bc2000 and buying the 5500. I love that fact that the DC's work in small enclosures but I'm limited to batteries because if space. Once I get my Mechman back I think I'll be ok for 5k.
