ainawi Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 i have just have got my 220 a mecman alternator & was going to run it on 14.9 volts by adjusting the voltage regulator.. i will only be installing no. of hi ampere standard 12 volt car batteries for the setup, but was not sure if they can support the 15 volts or not, correct me if i am wrong as i know nothin about power system.. my setup will be 1Hifonics colossus final Edition 3200 rms at 14,4v 1 Solo x 18" 1 ZX 650.4 & kicker mids & highs if you can help me with the power solutions it will be much appreciated. i was also looking for solution for remedy of extra weight after system installed, what can be some comfortable ways to raise the car without loosing smoothness? thanks

I wouldn't do it. unless you get a better battery. well i forgot to mention that i dont access to those XS kinetics or yellow top. as they are about triple the price in here where i live compared to US, so i wont go for them unless no way out.. so assume if i get them how many i should hook them up & what specs ??????

You are going to want to save weight where you can with the enclosure. Using thinner wood in conjunction with a lot of bamboo bracing (tied in the middle) will help with enclosure weight. You will still have to double baffle your face, but the box will be a LOT lighter than one of comparable stiffness using thick wood. Also, try to keep your batteries over the back wheels if possible and as close to the front as possible to share the load with the front suspension.
